[Bug 1191272] New: apache2-mod_perl still requires perl-5.32.1 while Tumbleweed's perl is 5.34.0 (fix already available)
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1191272 Bug ID: 1191272 Summary: apache2-mod_perl still requires perl-5.32.1 while Tumbleweed's perl is 5.34.0 (fix already available) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE Tumbleweed Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Apache Assignee: bnc-team-apache@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: walter.haidinger@gmx.at QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- The apache2-mod_perl-2.0.11-2.12 package for openSUSE Tumbleweed needs to be recompiled. System perl is already at perl-5.34.0-1.1.x86_64. # zypper install apache2-mod_perl Problem: nothing provides 'perl = 5.32.1' needed by the to be installed apache2-mod_perl-2.0.11-2.12.x86_64 Solution 1: do not install apache2-mod_perl-2.0.11-2.12.x86_64 Solution 2: break apache2-mod_perl-2.0.11-2.12.x86_64 by ignoring some of its dependencies The missing patch to build vs. perl-5.34 is already in the "perl modules (openSUSE_Tumbleweed)" repository, currently available as apache2-mod_perl-2.0.11-131.1. This needs to be backported to Tumbleweed's "Main Repository (OSS)". And yes, some people still do use Perl! :-D -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1191272 http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1191272#c1 --- Comment #1 from Walter Haidinger <walter.haidinger@gmx.at> --- On a related note: I've applied the "fix_perl_5.34_build.patch" from the "perl modules" package to the source rpm of 2.0.11-2.12 and rebuilt the package. All good there. This is avoid using the "perl modules" version, i.e. switch vendors. However, a subsequent "zypper dup" complains about a "problem" without being to specific: Problem: problem with the installed apache2-mod_perl-2.0.11-2.12.x86_64 Solution 1: deinstallation of apache2-mod_perl-2.0.11-2.12.x86_64 Solution 2: keep obsolete apache2-mod_perl-2.0.11-2.12.x86_64 How do I find which "problem" the solver apparently has? Is it because the vendor information has been lost? Neither zypper -vvv nor zypper.log shows any clues (to me at least). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
