https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=216141 Summary: gcc-4.1 is not symlinked to gcc Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Beta 1 Platform: Other OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Development AssignedTo: pth@novell.com ReportedBy: balazs.melikant@univie.ac.at QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: balazs.melikant@univie.ac.at I attempted to build the simple acerhk module on beta 1 and couldn't understand for a while why I'm getting a "no gcc installed"-type error. The following line helped, when given in /usr/bin : ln -s gcc-4.1 gcc -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

This is intentional, in order to allow parallel installation of multiple compilers. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=216141 ------- Comment #2 from balazs.melikant@univie.ac.at 2006-10-29 10:24 MST ------- Thanks for your comment! My yast was dead just in a single hour after the beta1 installation and I had to add few extra rpm packages to my system "by hand". I don't have enough information for a bugreport and will likely wait until the next beta comes out. Now I just have: halacska:~ # /sbin/yast2 --install gcc Applications must not close shared connections - see dbus_connection_close() docs. This is a bug in the application.
