After the reboot I have a completely blank screen - the X server is running but not doing anything usefull at all. Switching to the text console and kill X, I see on console 1: "Starting YaST". Seems that the system didn't get informed that X was running and therefore did not run YaST at all... Reproducible with KDE liveCD build 0553. So a "zypper in sax2-tools" on a console helps - installation will continue.
