python(abi) gives an easy way to select an interpreter variant, just like pkgconfig() gives an easy way to avoid rpm package names.
Why is python(abi) bad, given that it exits since apparently SLE11?
I am not saying that it is bad, but it is not supported by our macros. Not because we hate it, but because we just use different techniques.
