That left pane uses the length of the longest text as its width. But in this case, the 11.0 logo is only partially visible. I understand the logo is not a separate pixmap, but part of that background pixmap, so it's not so simple to automatically enforce this minimum width. Coolo? Later in the installation, the section gets a bit wider and reveals about half of 0 of 11.0. It's probably best to put some minimum width as Stefan suggested.
