After unlocking the screen from screen-lock, gnome-shell sometimes does not
show the desktop, instead showing just the gray screen (background of screen
lock curtain) and top bar. At this stage Alt+F2 works, as does Alt+Tab display
(shows the app icons but does not switch to a chosen app itself). Have to hit
Alt+F2 and 'r' to restart gnome-shell, upon which normal desktop activities are
resumed.

The same issue has been also reported in the redhat bug tracker and upstream.
The upstream bug has a patch.
