So it fails validation against the schema in /usr/share/zypp/schema/yum/patterns.rng Example: http://ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/repositories/KDE:/KDE4:/STABLE:/Desktop/ope... comtains a Patterns.xml starting with: <patterns count="3"> <pattern xmlns="http://novell.com/package/metadata/suse/pattern" xmlns:rpm="http://linux.duke.edu/metadata/rpm"> <name>KDE 4.0 Basis</name> .. Please specify the namespace on the patterns element instead of pattern, changing it to <patterns count="3" xmlns="http://novell.com/package/metadata/suse/pattern" xmlns:rpm="http://linux.duke.edu/metadata/rpm"> <pattern> <name>KDE 4.0 Basis</name> .. will allow it to pass validation. Is this a problem ? It needs to validate against the schema. Either update the XML to match the schema or fix the schema. The template for patterns (what you see when you do osc meta -e pattern for a new pattern) doesn't contain the xmlns data so the generated patterns.xml doesn't have the xmlns data in it at all. This causes a failure on 10.3.
