[Bug 258968] New: Screensavers and video playback hangs every 2.5 seconds for a single frame
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=258968
Summary: Screensavers and video playback hangs every 2.5 seconds
for a single frame
Product: openSUSE 10.2
Version: Final
Platform: i686
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 - None
Component: GNOME
AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com
ReportedBy: gjjones1@usi.edu
QAContact: qa@suse.de
There is a "stutter" for a single frame every 2.5 (roughly) seconds when any
screensaver is running or video files are played back.
I tried video playback under xine, realplayer, totem, and online flash players
(using Shockwave Flash 9.0 r31). There may be a similar pause in the audio but
it is not noticeable.
I am wondering if there is a bios, hard drive, CPU related bug.
Just in case, here are some pertinent files:

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=258968 ------- Comment #2 from gjjones1@usi.edu 2007-04-12 07:45 MST ------- I have applied the workarounds mentioned in https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=164093#c13 as it is the only bug that mentions a "stutter" of any kind. It doesn't help the video or screensaver stutter but I began to notice a mouse stutter as well. Applying those workaround's helps the mouse... sometimes. It depends on the boot. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
