http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=551761 Summary: zypper search should be able ignore locks (commandline option needed) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Usability AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: grey-olli@ya.ru QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9.0.13) Gecko/2009080200 SUSE/3.0.13-0.1.2 Firefox/3.0.13 I can't search for packages during install of other packages. On slow connection or long operations that's annoying.. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. do 'zypper up' or 'zypper in one terminal 2. do zypper search something 3. You'll see that db is locked & no key to ignore this using just already cached data. Actual Results: package management locked. Expected Results: package search should be allowed while other operations in progress, though this should require some sort of --force option & warning should be printed that data may be not actual. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
