It doesn't store the selected value, but the value that selected when systemsettings was started. How to reproduce: start systemsettings
Appearance > Style select Motif Apply close systemsettings config/Trolltech.conf contains 'style=oxygen'
start systemsettings again
Appearance > Style select CDE Apply close systemsettings
