[Bug 1171005] New: WS-Discovery Capability
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1171005 Bug ID: 1171005 Summary: WS-Discovery Capability Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 15.1 Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE Workspace (Plasma) Assignee: opensuse-kde-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: deano_ferrari@hotmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Based on this recent news... https://kde.org/announcements/releases/2020-04-apps-update/ https://phabricator.kde.org/D25682 ...samba shares are now discoverable via the WS-Discovery protocol as used by modern versions of Windows. This requires Dolphin 20.04.0 onwards, kdsoap, and kdsoap-ws-discovery-client. Are we able to get these components packaged for Leap 15.1? I have the requisite KDE repos enabled, and am keen to see this functionality implemented ASAP. Thanks in advance. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I have added the required dependency to enable WS-Discovery on 15.1 to the KDE repositories. Please check back in a few hours or so (to make sure everything builds) and update. Then please report if it works for you.
I can confirm that following a system update, Dolphin smb:// now discovers hosts (via both Avahi and WS-Discovery mechanisms) which is pleasing to see. However, although they are displayed as expected, I've found that I cannot connect to the WSD-annunciated hosts. I get 'Could not connect to smb://<hostname>.kio-discover-wsd/' for all such hosts. This includes my own samba host where I have wsdd running successfully. BTW, Avahi-discovered hosts work fine. Please let me know how to progress this...any additional tests, procedures etc -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

That fix is in KDE:Application now.
