[Bug 763922] New: acpica iasl complains about wrong declared resources
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=763922 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=763922#c0 Summary: acpica iasl complains about wrong declared resources Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.2 Version: Factory Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Development AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: trenn@suse.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de CC: mcowley@suse.com, bugproxy@us.ibm.com, hannsj_uhl@de.ibm.com, Robert.Moore@intel.com, ming.m.lin@intel.com Found By: Development Blocker: --- With an acpidump of a recent Intel machine the error count when trying to compile the ACPI DSDT table exceeds 200: Maximum error count (200) exceeded ASL Input: DSDT.dsl - 14129 lines, 527345 bytes, 6859 keywords AML Output: (null) - 0 bytes, 3052 named objects, 3807 executable opcodes Compilation complete. 201 Errors, 0 Warnings, 0 Remarks, 1144 Optimizations Using -f option reveals that all errors come from a specific resource check: DSDT.dsl 153: 0x0000008100000000, Error 4049 - Length is larger than Min/Max window ^ But the length gets dynamically adjusted later. I guess this has to be fixed on iasl/acpica side. I open this bug because I stumbled over this when looking at bug #760440. You find acpidump attached in above bug (doesn't matter which, DSDTs included in the two acpidumps are identical). I tried latest acpica tools, version 20120518. I open a suse (not an acpica bugzilla) bug as the info is already attached here and IBM people can be asked if there are questions about the BIOS code. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

With an acpidump of a recent Intel machine I mean an IBM machine of course. Sorry for the confusion. Please look up bug #760440 for further details.
