The "command line" or "mini-commander" applet (gnome) in 11.4 does not work.
When launched it does not appear in the panel.
If I launch "/usr/lib/mini_commander_applet" on a terminal, I get a dozen such applets, for all the times I tried, but then I have an xterm tied up.
If I launch the same from "alt-f2" it does not work, and gives no error.
Classified as "critical" because the applet does not work.
I found that replacing the 'Exec=' line in /usr/share/dbus-1/services/org.gnome.panel.applet.MiniCommanderAppletFactory.service to 'Exec=/usr/lib/mini_commander_applet' resolved the issue for me. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

It works for me too. The entry contains: Exec=/home/carlos/gnome-cvs/libexec/mini_commander_applet somebody left a temporary line. So, can somebody create an update for this? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Per Comment#5 a workaround/fix is identified that could easily be resolved. Edit /usr/share/dbus- 1/services/org.gnome.panel.applet.MiniCommanderAppletFactory.service Replace the following line: Exec=/home/carlos/gnome-cvs/libexec/mini_commander_applet With Exec=/usr/lib/mini_commander_applet -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in openSUSE since the time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a current, supported openSUSE version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly reopen this bug and move it to the tested version of openSUSE. Truly yours. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
