We support the kernel as we ship it. If you're getting build failures, you must have changed the config options. You're going to have to apply the patch yourself if you want to build your own kernel. Our patch acceptance policy for released kernels is pretty strict, and there's no way a patch to fix a configuration that we don't even ship would be accepted.
