I'm not sure I understand this fully. since we maintain the openvswitch package that dpdk (the non-next version) should be used against in network, wouldn't it make sense to create keep the dpdk package that matches the current openvswitch package in network ?
Yes, that's what we have now.
we can create a network:dpdk-next then that contains the newer dpdk + potentially a newer openvswitch and then you have two projects.
OK lets do that although I fear that network:dpdk-next will only contain the "next" dpdk package since openvswitch (with or without dpdk) will live in the network project. But there might be more consumers in the future and dpdk-next could be used as a staging area.
Let me know if I understood it correctly, I can create the project anyway if you want it to be that way
