If you (or anyone!) happens to fancy working on a patch, http://en.opensuse.org/Build_Service/Collaboration is there to explain how the change could get applied to the openSUSE package. Upstream, there's http://sourceforge.net/projects/logdigest/ (I moved the SVN there some time ago), but I didn't activate a bug tracking system there yet as far as I remember. I have added the suggestion to the TODO file now, so it can be found by anyone looking around the source tree!
