[Bug 722861] New: Renaming Desktop Icons In Folder View Produces Strange Duplicates
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=722861 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=722861#c0 Summary: Renaming Desktop Icons In Folder View Produces Strange Duplicates Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Beta 1 Platform: PC OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: malv_star@hotmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686; rv:7.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/7.0 When running the KDE Desktop in Folder View mode, attempting to rename any desktop icon causes a strange duplicate to be created with the message "File Already Exists" displayed. Pressing "Overwrite" displays the message "Malformed URL" and the display of two identically-named icons on the screen, whilst pressing "Cancel" results in the same, but without the "Malformed URL" message. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Load the KDE Desktop and switch to "Folder View" 2. Right-click on any icon and attempt to rename it (I used the Firefox icon for this test) Actual Results: A duplicate icon for the program is created on the screen (the image shown is a cog, whereas the original retains its regular image) and a "Malformed URL" message may be displayed. Expected Results: The icon is renamed without incident. I noticed this bug appear in an earlier release (one of the 11.2 milestones I think) but it was resolved by Final. Now it appears to be back. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
