http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=592155 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=592155#c0 Summary: pulseaudio needs pactl command to load modules when logging into X Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Factory Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Sound AssignedTo: tiwai@novell.com ReportedBy: per@osbeck.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; sv-SE; rv:1.9.2.2) Gecko/20100317 SUSE/3.6.2-1.1 Firefox/3.6.2 looking at start-pulseaudio-kde.in and start-pulseaudio-x11.in from pulseaudio source, it requires pactl command which is in pulseaudio-utils package to properly load modules when a user logs in. pulseaudio-utils is not installed or recommended by pulseaudio package. for KDE/Phonon the module module-device-manager needs to be loaded (and it is when pactl is installed) to handle phonon device routing. And, yes, this has no proper dependency on pulseaudio-utils. Scott, could you fix it? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

That may happen - I know coling is pushing upstream to have it integrated more into the mainline pulse server. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
