Unable to connect to WPA wireles network. Did not attempt to trace/resolve problem but found viable workaround. 1. Use YaST "Software Repositories" to add the madwifi project repository to the list of repositories. Name: madwifi-project.org URL: http://madwifi-project.org/suse/11.1 Priority: 105 2. Install madwifi-kmp-default that matches the kernel level 3. Add the following lines to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist # disable SUSE default software for Atheros wifi cards blacklist ath5k blacklist mac80211 4. Reboot the system. (I didn't experiment to swap drivers without rebooting.) The madwifi drivers should be automatically loaded. Immediate connection with WPA secured network was obtained. It did this using the existing passphrase that was rejected when using the ath5k/mac80211 modules This workaround indicates that the issue is in the ath5k/mac80211 modules. I've been having this problem for well over a year with FC8, FC9, FC10. I believe that the problem started with arrival of the ath5k module but no longer have the old systems available to verify this. I suspect that there's an incompatibility between ath5k and the wpa-supplicant modules. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
