From http://www.ex-parrot.com/pdw/iftop/: "The latest stable version of iftop is 0.17."
As IPv4 is still used by the majority of the internet users, I guess this tool will become obsolete so soon. But I can try to update the package to the 1.0pre1 version in network:utilities if you like to test it. If everything works as expected, we can move it to factory. What do you think about this idea? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

And get some feedback from the ML. They want to push a 1.0.pre2 which resolv all kind of trouble in compilation. About ipv4, sure it will remain a number of years, that's not the problem. But ipv6 usage is growing quickly. How sys admin under openSUSE/SLE can monitor those network if we don't offer them working tools. Debian has fixed it's 0.17-17 version to have ipv6 support. So I don't know which is the best, reuse debian patch, or goes to the pre version. You certainly know packaging more than me, and so be able to make a choice. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

So yes, updating is fine. I even like to see the final 1.0 release and afterwards (testing!) request a generic update to the 1.0 version for all released distributions. Let's hope upstream can release the final version at the IPv6 day already ;-) FYI: I still see some "implicit definitions of functions and pointers" warnings in the logs and compiling it with no-strict-aliasing - but I updated the version in network:utilities already (Note: I use 0.99.1 as version to make updates easier). So please test.... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Or you just forget the publish flag ( for me only factory is ok for the moment for testing ) Actually I'm mirroring that one http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/server:/monitoring/openSUSE_Factor... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

But please do not ask me why the first successful build did not reach the public servers... FYI: in case something happens again, you can download the binary packages directly from the webfrontend of the Build Service: https://build.opensuse.org/package/binaries?package=iftop&project=network%3Autilities&repository=openSUSE_Factory I did some basic tests on Factory on 11.4 now - and it looks like everything works as expected. But it would be good if you can test IPv6 explicitly. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Monitoring pure eth, bond, sit0 tun. Tested also on 11.4. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
