It appears the knemo KDE4 is already part of packing list for Default KDE 12.3/13.x Knemo4 is already park of the packing list for v13.x so please get rid of it and make the swap as described below. There's not much logic in the way we manage the Network once Network Manager is chosen at install to control Network Devices. The issue, just for reference is that Yast can only control the Network device if IFUP is used. By the election there is no functionality to add a VPN or more sophisticated connections and the user is forced to use Network Manager. Kneno (KDE3) is a wonderful seamless aid for our IFUP controlled Network Device. Knemo (KDE4) IS in its self the way to completely manage the Network Device as if offers VPN's and WIFI's and a whole lot of stuff IFUP and Yast cannot provide. Its a highly charged discussion of who controls the Network Device in the packing list of opensuse which has Yast. Native KDE doesn’t have Yast at all to control anything. NO discussion will be heard of in opensuse to changing Yast to permit VPN/WIFI Network Device Management and configuration. Knemo has 2 vastly differing functionalities so I need to be very clear. Adding Knemo (KDE3) will auto pickup and report Network configuration using default IFUP without issue or problem it just works seamlessly. Adding Knemo (KDE4) will only operate and be useful if network control is via Network Manager. Here it makes no sense to add Knemo (KDE4) to our packing list of KDE Default KNEMO KDE4 is the complete Network Management on a KDE install where Yast is not used. If I have confused the issue by clarification please ask but please get rid of KNEMO (KDE4) from our opensuse packing list in V12.3 thru V13.x where it sits as a possible addition to our opensuse system tray. Knemo (KDE4) should only be installed in the user select to manage the Network by Network Manager rather that default IFUP. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
