Option "XkbVariant" "basic"
But it causes the X.org system to prevent ctrl-alt-(any) keyboard shortcut. i.e. ctrl-alt-backspace, ctrl-alt-f1(to f6) does not work in this configuration. [behavior in another version] openSUSE 10.3 version does not seems to add "Option "XkbVariant" "basic"" although variant=basic selected in sax2. I think that sax2 in openSUSE 10.3 works right, in openSUSE 11.0 works bad. [workaround] Deleting or commenting out the following line resolves it. (of cource, you should restart X.org)

I've found a new fact by your advice. SaX2 inserted the line "xkblayout basic" if I had opened the keyboard page (even if I did not change none of items in this page) In contrast, SaX2 did not insert this line if not. This archive file contains 4 files as follows. Sax.log-with-kbpage ... SaX2 log file if I opened the keyboard property page. xorg.conf-with-kbpage ... xorg.conf file if I did not open the keyboard property page. SaX.log-without-kbpage ...
