http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=603806 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=603806#c0 Summary: Minolta 1250W Printer will not work with any version of ghostscript higher than 8.62. Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Milestone 6 Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Printing AssignedTo: jsmeix@novell.com ReportedBy: dtksxeb02@sneakemail.com QAContact: jsmeix@novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=360533) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=360533) Cups error log showing "foomatic rip" error and min12xxv error. User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2.4) Gecko/20100417 SUSE/3.6.4-1.1 Firefox/3.6.4 Minolta 1250W is one of the old "winprinters" but it comes with a driver in opensuse...unfortunately that driver doesn't actually work....when "print test page" is clicked it appears to work but nothing actually prints on the printer. A copy of the cups error log is attached. The "Workaround" has been to downgrade the machine to ghostscript 8.62 from opensuse 11.0. Something changed from 8.62 to 8.64 that broke the Minolta driver. This affects all printers that use the min12xxv driver. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Print test page on Minolta 1250W 2. 3. Actual Results: No actual output on printer Expected Results: Test Page -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

It may still work when you keep your current print queue as is and only install the "filters" package from openSUSE 11.1 so that you have a /usr/bin/min12xxw binary. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 600505 *** http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=600505 -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
