The use basically the same xen conf file ( the only difference is the kernel they boot). For testing these domU i switch booting between pae and non-pae xen dom0 kernel. Applied all updates. While dom0 was in pae mode, installed a 10.2 paravirtualize domU with pae and non-pae kernels (no updates applied). The running kernels are 2.16.18.2-34-xen and 2.16.18.2-34-xenpae for both dom0 and domU. In dom0/domU in pae mode, installed dhcpd V3.0.5 in domU and then configured and started the service. Verified that other machines coming up in dhcp mode received an IP address. Rebooted dom0 in non-pae mode and brought up domU in non-pae mode. Dhcpd was already installed and configured in domU, so just started the service. Brought up another machine and verified that it received a dhcp IP address. I'm not seeing the error mentioned. What domU are you running? Is the domU paravirtualized or fully virtualized? Please close the bug, i simply made a mistake by not copying the appropriate modules to the domU modules directories. After fixing this, dhcpd works just fine.
