https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=209362 ------- Comment #3 from ensonic@sonicpulse.de 2006-10-01 06:18 MST ------- I do install everything via 'yast2 sw_single' so I wonder how libdaemon can be missing. So I assumed that avahi had a missing dependency. If you can confirm that avahi has a dependency against libdaemon-0.10-13 feel free to close this bug as 'mysterious anomaly'. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=209362 andreas.hanke@gmx-topmail.de changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |andreas.hanke@gmx-topmail.de ------- Comment #4 from andreas.hanke@gmx-topmail.de 2006-10-01 06:59 MST ------- avahi has a correct dependency on libdaemon.so.0 and libdaemon has correct ldconfig calls. This means that it is not a packaging bug, the error can only be caused by ignoring either dependencies (--nodeps) or scripts (--noscripts). If you used YaST to install avahi, it might be a YaST bug. The logfiles would be helpful to find out. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=209362 ------- Comment #5 from ensonic@sonicpulse.de 2006-10-01 07:12 MST ------- I don't remember when avahi has been installed. maybe the error had been caused by upgrading. I just noticed this today, when I was trying to actually use it. Anyway this is what I can see in the logs. From which media did you install avahi?

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=209362 ------- Comment #7 from ensonic@sonicpulse.de 2006-10-01 08:31 MST ------- I download DVD isos and then later do online updates. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=209362 ------- Comment #8 from aj@novell.com 2006-10-01 08:45 MST ------- Both packages are only available in the ftp tree and are not on the DVD iso. I don't know how you could get into this situation. It's definitely wrong but without knowing what happened, we're lost. Your immediate problem is solved but I would like to get to the root of it. If you have any idea on how this could be reproduced, please tell us. Otherwise we have to close this bugs as "INVALID". -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

I have no way of exactly telling you what lead into this. I am updating this system since version 6.4. I can imagine something broke during updates or due to differences between DVD image and live packages (I put the online repositories into my install sources once the packages are there). Many thanks for your help still. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
