https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=663318 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=663318#c0 Summary: Chromium fails to load the GWT dev plugin after installation (possible packaging bug) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: dilbert.elbonia@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.16 SUSE/10.0.629.0 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/10.0.629.0 Safari/534.16 This bug has to do with Google Web Toolkit (GWT) development which helps in the development of web applications. I will not describe how to setup the GWT development environment hoping that You are familiar with it. If not, please ask and I will do my best to help You set up the environment. Anyway, I started with a clean chromium installation (without any third party plugins). In order to facilitate development GWT provides several plugins for the most used browsers. The plugins are used in combination with a development server to run/debug applications. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. When a browser (Chromium) without the installed plugin is directed to the development server (http://localhost:8888/main.htm?gwt.codesvr=127.0.0.1:9997 is an example of the url that is entered to connect to the development server) the browser shows a page that informs that the GWT development plugin is not installed and contains a button which starts the installation of the appropriate plugin 2. Click on the button and install the plugin. The installation completes without problems. The extensions and plugins page shows that the plugin is installed. 3. Reload the web application from the development server. Actual Results: After the third step the browser shows the same page as before informing us that the plugin is not installed. Closing and restarting the browser does not help the issue. Expected Results: The third step should normally load the app and allow you to debug your app. Some additional info can be found here: http://code.google.com/p/google-web-toolkit/issues/detail?id=5740 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
