[Bug 1050739] New: Massive memory leak in latest version of Evolution
http://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1050739 Bug ID: 1050739 Summary: Massive memory leak in latest version of Evolution Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: Other OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Evolution Assignee: bnc-team-evolution@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: sbahling@suse.com QA Contact: akhil.laddha@microfocus.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Using evolution-3.24.4-1.1 from latest Tumbleweed eats up all of my 8gb of memory and hangs my system within an hour. I now run it in a cgroup with a limit of 2gb of memory which stops from crashing my system, but Evolution uses that up and crawls to a halt within about 15 minutes. On a second system I still have evolution-3.24.1 still installed and while it also leaks, it's not as severe - it doesn't consume the memory as fast as the 3.24.4 version and I don't think it consumes as much ultimately. I also noticed that the latest release also creates an obscene amount of network traffic which eats up 100's of MB of data on my LTE connection within minutes. I'm using Evolution to connect to IMAPx servers. I have pretty large mail boxes dozens of folders with 1000's of emails. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
