[Bug 911569] New: Segmentation fault in Xorg when switching between virtual terminals (while VirtualBox is running)
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=911569 Bug ID: 911569 Summary: Segmentation fault in Xorg when switching between virtual terminals (while VirtualBox is running) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Hardware: Other OS: openSUSE 13.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org Assignee: bnc-team-xorg-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Reporter: Yarny@public-files.de QA Contact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 618571 --> http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=618571&action=edit Xorg.log from the crash Since the youngest update of xorg-x11-server (done on 2014-12-28), we're seeing crashes of Xorg occasionally (~ once every second day). Each crash started with the following situation: Two sessions (on Ctrl-Alt-F7/8) are running; in one session (F8) there is VirtualBox (QT) running. When the user switches from F8 to F7 and back to F8, the session on F8 crashes. The user suspects that the F8-server crashed when switching to F7, but is not certain. Attached you find the Xorg.log file which was created before and during the crash. So far we're not able to reproduce the crash reliably. A side note: The machine has an nVidia GeForce4 MX 440. However, due to Bug 851394, the machine uses the "modesetting" driver. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Can you provide the exact version of the xorg-x11-server package you are using? When the crash was reported, it was 7.6_1.14.3.901-12.1|i586. Currently it is 7.6_1.14.3.901-25.1|i586.
According to the user the bug did not occur in the last months (in spite of heavy VT switching), so I assume the bug got fixed somewhere between those versions. I'm closing it as fixed. Thanks and sorry for not reporting back earlier. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
