This happens every time, so I am stuck with the traditional desktop view. My system is Opensuse 11.1, with the standard KDE install, and which was upgraded from 11.0 using the dvd installation method. I am still able to re-create the crash. To do so, I right click on the desktop, and then change the drop down box from the default desktio view to the folder view, then click apply.
