Created an attachment (id=393481) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=393481) [details] messages log for the time boot waiting
It doesn't look like the kernel is causing the lag. in boot.msg there is no time ??
Hmm, what is worse, you don't have the log of services there. Reassigning to basesystem maintainers as it seems like some daemon or similar is waiting for something.
but in var/log/messages you can see why i wait during boot, for exemple this morning between 7:17 and 7:20
Yes, but we don't see there the reason. We only see the network was set up. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

It is due to the fact that nfs now tries to perform an NFSv4 mount first, and NFSv4 doesn't handle ENETUNREACH properly. It is hard to be certain based on the logs, but it could be that this is a delay that you will just have to put up with. Have NFS mounts in /etc/fstab, and using NetworkManager to configure the network isn't really a configuration that can be supported effectively. If you use NetworkManager it us much better to use autofs to mount NFS filesystems. Then they get mounted on demand once NetworkManager is up, rather than trying to mount them before there is any network. However there is still an issue with v4 mounts taking too long if there is a no network. I haven't managed to make any progress on that front yet. As it is an upstream problem, I'm going to resolve this as 'Upstream'. i.e. it cannot easily be fixed just in suse. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
