https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=833869 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=833869#c0 Summary: VNC/http doesn't work Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jens.middelfart@youmail.dk QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1) AppleWebKit/537.31 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/26.0.1410.64 Safari/537.31 After applying automatic update I couldn't use remote administration via http ( VNC via UltraVNC client worked as usual) in /etc/xinet.d/vnc there was the following line in the definition for service vnchttpd1 (and 2 and 3 as well): .. server_args = -noreset 1024 768 5901 .. this doesn't work , but if the -noreset is removed everything works fine again, i.e. .. server_args = 1024 768 5901 .. Since all my servers has the same problem after applying an automatic update in Yast I guess this might be a problem relating to a recent fix in Vnc Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. apply automatic update including VNC 2. access http://<server>:5801 from a browser Actual Results: remote access doesn't work (logon screen is not displayed) I removed manually -noreset which solved the problem as described above -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=833869 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=833869#c2 --- Comment #2 from Michal Srb <msrb@suse.com> 2013-11-06 12:49:51 UTC --- The -noreset argument for vnc_inetd_httpd really doesn't belong there. It is not present in the file in rpm package. But there is old post installation script that adds it if your /etc/xinet.d/vnc had manual changes before update. This script is supposed to add it only to vnc services, but is incorrectly adding to the vnchttp services as well. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
