KControl > Behavior > "Mouse Button Actions"... I usually set middle button for "Application menu"... I believe that this option should pull up the old Kmenu preferably, and give users that enjoy that feature the choice of using either, it's just a simpler interface... then we can use Kickoff when we browse down to the Panel... Either way, Kickoff should not open above it's location in the panel when I middle click at the opposite side of the screen, it is very inconvenient!
