https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=488724 Summary: Using ATI Radeon 9600 (fglrx) drives causes unusable display after switching user Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: 32bit OS/Version: openSUSE 11.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE3 AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: qwilson1843@yahoo.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.19) Gecko/20081213 SUSE/2.0.0.19-0.1 Firefox/2.0.0.19 Using openSuSE 11.1 / 32 bit with ATI Radeon 9600 card if you try to switch users with KDE3 the display becomes unusable. Colors are flashing, scrolling around, and generally scrambled up. This only occurs with the ATI card. The drivers are the 8.582.-2.1 being release via the update site. I have attempted to use the latest 9.2 but was unable to get any video at all out of the card. I could xdmcp to the box and reconfigure but the video card was not producing any output at all. I am not sure if this was in 11.0 but the feature worked in 10.3 with this hardware. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Login in 2. ctrl - ins , select start new session 3. Actual Results: display is unusable, scrambled colors scrolling around (vertically) Expected Results: login display -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
