Please see the attached screen dump collage. As you can see, there are several discrepancies between ext4 and xfs. Xfs is obviously wrong and it seems that ext4 is more correct, but I haven't verified the actual file sizes. The data in question should be identical, as these two volumes are mounted on the same server and I had just done cp -u -r -p -v /oldstor/... /storage/... (twice with no updates the second time). Before issuing this command, the target ( /storage/... ) was empty. I'll connect the /oldstor ext4 volume to a 12.2 server that's also running xfs. I'll report back.
