[Bug 229255] New: Unable to play midi songs
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=229255 Summary: Unable to play midi songs Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Sound AssignedTo: tiwai@novell.com ReportedBy: lotd_fan@comcast.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Every 64-bit version since 9.3 up to the current 10.2 has been unable to play midi songs, and because of this it affects other programs like Pysol, which plays midi songs in the background. If I install the 32-bit version there are no sound problems at all. The sound card being used is SB Live 5.1. Currently running Mandriva 2007 64-bit with no sound problems. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Please check whether you can play simply midi file via aplaymidi. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

I can now play midis using Timidity. However, the pysol game still has no sound. All I get is a loud buzzing sound. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Try aplaymidi as I suggested. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

My main reason for posting this bug is to get sound working in Pysol. I assumed there was a connection between not being able to play midis on a 64-bit install and running Pysol, which also plays midis. What is the correct format for aplaymidi?
