Meanwhile, it has been fixed upstream: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=150973 http://websvn.kde.org/?view=rev&revision=731945 The problem makes konqueror pretty unusable for any kind of resource requiring a password (notably, smb or ftp access).
