Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Turn on laptop 2. See grub prompt, could NOT select or type in anything Expected Results: The repair should work from install DVD In the end a I did a manual repair worked this is what I did Booted to prompt fron install DVD > grub > root (hd0,3) - filesystem is type reiserfs, partition type 0x83 > setup (hd0) - Checking if "/boot/grub/stage1" exists... yes - Checking if "/boot/grub/stage2" exists... yes - Running "embed /boot/grub/reiserfs_stage1_5 (hd0)" ...23 sectors are enabled - Running "install /boot/grub/stage1 (hd0) (hd0)1+23 p (hd0,3)/boot/grub/stage2 /boot/grub/menu.1st"... suceeded Done. > quit # reboot System booted ok. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

returned (hd0,1) grub> root (hd0,1) returned Filesystem type is .... grub>setup (hd0) returned ....succeeded grub>quit reboot
