It's hard to decode that there is an login prompt... this is caused by agetty starting on tty1. Not sure why yet.
Note this happens both on tty1 and ttyS0 (simultaneously). Fortunately, Werner fixed various issue in agetty in util-linux git and running agetty --noclear tty1 from git fixes the bug.
