[Bug 223502] New: cdrom eject not working
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=223502 Summary: cdrom eject not working Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: RC 1 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: snwint@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de When I press the eject button on my cdrom drive, nothing happens. I know it sounds like whining, but yes, it did work nicely in 10.1. And I _think_ it still worked during 10.2 beta (not sure, though). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

That is, more or less, the point here. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

So only root can eject this cd. If I insert the cd later as user all works fine. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

That will keep the eject button from working. Does the 'eject' command from the command line work? Does 'mount' show any mounted filesystems here? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

So things are back to 'normal'. I still think linux has no business locking r/o media, but that is probably just me. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
