When i'm using the native openSUSE driver (rtl8180) there are much Packet-Loss-Errors and the WiFi-Connection-Quality differs permanently from 6/100 to 89/100 (via iwlist). The same enviroment with the WindowsXP-Driver (rtl8180) via ndiswrapper (like i've done with SUSE 10.x) - everything ist fine. No Errors, no Signal-Lost. I#ve tested with 3 independed access-points (netgear, siemens and d-link) with the same result. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Use these wireless-card 2. see iwconfig and iwlist 3. The openSUSE native driver rtl8180 [1] and the file transfer works [2]. The card is b-standard, but connects with 1Mb/s rate only. I am using openSUSE 11.2 RC1 daily with Gnome and observe no problems up till now, but it is RC1. I suggest to upgrade, but if it is your production box it would be worth to try in a separate partition, or wait for a stable version. Did the upgrade help ? Thank you. But what about the stable version 11.1? For professional use i cannot upgrade our laptops to an RC.
I can reproduce the problem on openSUSE 11.1 .The "Link Quality" is poor.
