[Bug 568309] New: Packagekit updater applet in Gnome not notifying about restart required after kernel update
http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=568309 http://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=568309#c0 Summary: Packagekit updater applet in Gnome not notifying about restart required after kernel update Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: badshah400@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-GB; rv:1.9.1.6) Gecko/20091201 SUSE/3.5.6-1.1.1 Firefox/3.5.6 I have just installed an official update of the linux-kernel [ID: 29469], using the packagetkit updater-applet. While the updater was installing this package, it had an icon against this package and a message against it that said "a restart is needed after the update". However once the updates were done the application just disappeared without notifying me that an update is now required. At the end of the installation of updates that require a restart, packagekit should notify the user. This used to work in 11.1. So this is packagekit problem only. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Not likely, you have already upgraded to newer versions of openSUSE, which had a lot more bug fixes. We believe that this specific bug has been fixed during one of the release cycles; as such, I close the bug as 'FIXED'. Should you be able to reproduce this issue on a newer openSUSE version, please feel to report it again. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
