According to one of the reported bugs, this was fixed by a change to the kernel. I then booted into the installed 11.2 on the system, and upgraded by changing the repositories and using "zypper dup". I then did a system update to get the latest software. After a reboot, the system crashes waiting for the dm device to appear. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Try to install or upgrade a system with ICH10R raid 2. 3. This was with a freshly downloaded ISO. For the second crash when updating from 11.2, I really need more details. Maybe if you can take a digital photo of any crash message and attach it? Unless there is maybe a newer ISO in another location. I think it is similar to bug 599885. I reverted to 11.2 in the meantime - I was waiting for a new kernel patch to come out before attempting the upgrade again, but I may still have the 11.2 I upgraded on another partition. If so I will have a look and see if I can get a photo or a core dump if possible. That could make a difference - I just tested RAID1. I believe there were some RAID5 issues which may only have been addressed as recently as late June, so you would need to try a kernel more recent than that to confirm if they have been fixed.
