When these older (unsupported) versions are run in qemu, samba shares are defunct. But this approach should be one which is take up with upstream. I've not yet looked to see if such an approach has been examined and rejected before. Jiri, have you played with such a change to see if it works ok, or looked into whether this type of idea has been looked into before?
I changed the generated config in /tmp and samba apparently uses inotify as it loaded the change immediately. So it started working. I haven't looked whether upstream knows about this or not. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
