[Bug 887045] New: Amarok fails to show .aac files in collection, but playback works via "Play Media".
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=887045 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=887045#c0 Summary: Amarok fails to show .aac files in collection, but playback works via "Play Media". Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 13.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Applications AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: madworm_de.novell@spitzenpfeil.org QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:30.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/30.0 Scanning my music collection works in general, but .aac files simply do not show up in the local collection, therefore one cannot search for them as well. This might be caused by "libtag-extras", which seems to be required to read meta-data from .aac files. I have libtag-extras installed (amarok is linked against it, so I expect something to happen there), but when running amarok in debug mode, there are a lot of errors when it tries to extract meta information from those files. "tagreader" (part of libtag) also doesn't show anything useful on those files. I compiled libtag-extras 1.0.1 and tried that, nothing useful happening.
