[Bug 298744] New: Software part should be first (or at least second)
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=298744 Summary: Software part should be first (or at least second) Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 7 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Usability AssignedTo: sreeves@novell.com ReportedBy: meissner@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: coolo@novell.com, siegfried.olschner@novell.com, visnov@novell.com Found By: --- In yast2 control center GNOME. The Software part of the YAST Module view should be top most or at least second top most past Hardware. Also the ONLINE UPDATE should (like in the QT version) on the upper left so that it immediately springs to mind because I pretty much guess that is why most users start it. (not sure if we can do it that late in the Beta phase) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=298744#c1 Scott Reeves <sreeves@novell.com> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|NEW |RESOLVED Resolution| |WONTFIX --- Comment #1 from Scott Reeves <sreeves@novell.com> 2007-08-27 17:36:08 MST --- Any objections if we close this as wontfix for 10.3 ? Bug #274974 is more general and covers moving the entire menu generation for both qt and gnome to a common XDG standards based one. At that point the (common) menu names and positions should be identical. It is being worked on but will not be done in time for 10.3 though. For the ONLINE UPDATE part of this bug we now have the opensuse-updater as an icon in the panel which should be the most common and direct way of updating thus decreasing the priority of that item as compared to other items in the "Software" category. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
