Can you please test the amarok package from http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/christiantrippe:/branches:/K...
This should fix it.
You're right. With this package I got the "fluendo-package" and after its installation I have MP3 support with GStreamer, too. Will this version included in the Release-Version of 12.1? If not, it will be better to configure Amarok to use Xine as default Phonon backend. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Perhaps the whole KSUSEInstall patch should be dropped for Amarok. If Phonon is using GStreamer the PackageKit/GStreamer integration should take care of this. Even if it could be improved, the PackageKit/GStreamer thing is far better than KSUSEInstall: - It only triggers when the user wants to play the file - It doesn't depends on the package name. Instead it searches for some "provides" that are added to the packages automatically by RPM, being way more robust. - Is not specific for MP3, works for ANY format. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Does SR#90195 really make sense?
I am not sure. I would classify it as workaround short before 12.1 final. I went this way because I have never seen this packagkitGstreamer integration before and was not aware of it. (Probably because thing I alwas so is remove kpackagekit/apper.) Perhaps the whole KSUSEInstall patch should be
dropped for Amarok. If Phonon is using GStreamer the PackageKit/GStreamer integration should take care of this.
For me this sounds good. But I guess this is better discussed on the mailinglist? Or do you think that should still be done for 12.1 as an online update? If yes, please reopen the bug. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
