[Bug 407395] New: no connection to openSUSE update server after upgrading to yast2-qt on 10. 3
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=407395 Summary: no connection to openSUSE update server after upgrading to yast2-qt on 10.3 Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: uga@domestic.de QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: Customer I migrated to yast2-qt after my GNOME was damaged after a week ago. This migration produced the problem that the openSUSE updater and the automatic Online-Update-Configuration don't work anymore. If I try to configure my online update automatically I get the error: None of the installed products can be registered at the Novell registration server. At first I updated libzypp to 5.0.2.-2.2 because the first google hit shows that there was a problem with libzypp in the past (http://lists4.suse.de/opensuse-bugs/2007-09/threads21.html). Didn't work for me. The second hit (http://forums.opensuse.org/archives/sf-archives/software/331554-unable-regis...) what proposes to configure a mirror didn't work either because the openSUSE mirror list only contains 11.0 mirrors and no update mirrors - even not for 11.0 (http://en.opensuse.org/Mirrors_Released_Version). Note that I have an update repository configured with Servername: download.opensuse.org Directory: /update/10.3/ what always worked in the past. The third hit suggested to delete all in the /etc/zmd directory and restart (http://forums.novell.com/novell-product-support-forums/suse-linux-enterprise...). Didn't work for me. A look into the /root/.suse-register.log shows at the beginning: SEND DATA to URI: https://secure-www.novell.com/center/regsvc/?command=listproducts&lang=en-US&version=1.0: RECEIVED DATA: CURL RETURN WITH: 0 CODE: 302 MESSAGE: Moved Temporarily It is strange that the first line shows lang=en-US because I have a german version. May be I have to configure here something but openSUSE should find the correct configuration itself. "Moved Temporarily" sounds as if the registration server is not available but my problem emerged definitely with the migration to yast2-qt. My /etc/suseRegister.conf contains: url = https://secure-www.novell.com/center/regsvc/ listParams = command=listparams register = command=register listProducts = command=listproducts #hostGUID = 122354 # add update sources provided by the registration server # addRegSrvSrc = true # add additional update sources (only type zypp is supported) # addAdSrc can be used multiple times # #addAdSrc = http://you.suse.de/updates/test?alias=someName #addAdSrc = http://you.suse.de/updates/test2 I attach the complete /root/.suse-register.log. This version of libzypp is from Factory and is not be compatible with openSUSE 10.3 . Maybe you have a mixed system now. Something between 10.3 and FACTORY. There is no wonder that things do not work :-) If you want to add an update url manually, try this: http://download.opensuse.org/update/10.3/ -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
