[Bug 213029] New: Status of Radeon R300 Cards - DRI support
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=213029 Summary: Status of Radeon R300 Cards - DRI support Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Alpha 5 Platform: i586 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: m_clauss@web.de QAContact: sndirsch@novell.com Tried with openSUSE 10.2 Alpha 5. Are those Cards ( i have an 9800XT with an R300 Chip) still "official" broken with DRI? Because i cant enable DRI in Sax (Checkbox disabled). With the latest Mesa/Xorg/Driver packages the support for DRI seems to be enough for AIGLX (testest only with beryl) and playing some games (tested with wine) after i enabled DRI support manually. Thanks in adavnce for some replies ;) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

ATM i dont have access to my openSUSE Box, so i cant provide the specific info you want. But here are some different Outputs on another Box (not running SUSE): lspci: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV350 NF [Radeon 9600] some relevant sections from Xorg log: .. (--) PCI:*(1:0:0) ATI Technologies Inc RV350 NF [Radeon 9600] rev 0, Mem @ 0xd8000000/27, 0xe8420000/16, I/O @ 0xc000/8 (--) PCI: (1:0:1) ATI Technologies Inc RV350 NF [Radeon 9600] (Secondary) rev 0, Mem @ 0xe0000000/27, 0xe8430000/16 .. .. Versions: X.org 7.1.1 Radeon-Driver 6.6.3 Kernel 2.6.18 The card is a R300, the output from lspci is wrong ;) DRI is relatively stable. Beryl and Compiz (with AIGLX and GLX) are stable. Sorry that i cannot the specific output from Alpha5, but enabling manually (through xorg.conf because in SAX disabled) DRI works there also. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

I'm sorry, but I want to enable this feature for 10.2 only on hardware, which has been tested on 10.2. There is a tool (Driconf) which can disable this fallback.
