I have attached the results in HTML format to the bug. The short story of the test is that the new wiki does not perform as well as the old one. This should not be too much of a surprise, since the new wiki has a number of extra extensions installed. The good news is that the results also show that the difference is slim to none unless the system begins to see a high load, at which point it becomes noticeably different. To make old-en read only would require using a separate configuration, which breaks it out of the wiki farm. As this transition continues with other languages, we are going to have more of these legacy wikis, and we'll soon have more exceptions than rules if we do it that way. FYI, we now have two separate wiki farms at this point. We have the "legacy" farm with the current wikis, and we have the "modern" farm with wiki.o.o (soon to be en) and dewiki.o.o. They each have one configuration, so this transition should be as painless as possible. As this project continues, the new farm will grow and we can either leave the legacy wikis or phase them out, depending on what you all want. Due to meetings and other work I have this morning, the switch will need to be done at 17:00 UTC. I created a post on news.o.o about it, so we should probably continue with that.
