[Bug 458962] New: HAL update destroys hotkey settings
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=458962 Summary: HAL update destroys hotkey settings Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Mobile Devices AssignedTo: zoz@novell.com ReportedBy: piny@gmx.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Customer HAL update to 0.5.11-8.2_x86_64 from ...-8.1_... destroys hotkey settings for a ThinkPad R61i 8943-A29. This is a really annoying issue. HAL ...-8.2_... claims: Obsoletes hotkey-setup <= 0.1 Provides hotkey-setup = 0.1 I attach my local /usr/lib/hotkey-setup/thinkpad_hotkey_handler I am happy to have this in a save place and just link it there.. Please note, that this is a mix of issues. Of specific practical importance are Fn-F1, Fn-F2, Fn-F3, and the very important Fn-F8, which is probably rather specific. Even the "TinkVantage" key is "nice to have" I am happy to change to the "mainstream" system, if somebody tells me how to. Up to now, I could not afford the time to understand this HAL thing.... If I "google" for this issue, I get the impression, that I am not the only embarrassed laptop user... So, the question is: Is there an user friendly way to get the hotkeys back? .. besides downgrading an reinstalling hotkey-setup again ... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
